Vallentuna is a municipality in the region of Stockholm in Sweden. The municipality has about 34,000 inhabitants and is located in its entirety in theprovinceof Uppland.

Location[edit]

The municipality is located in the southern parts of theprovinceUppland and borders the municipalities Norrtälje in the north and northeast, Österåker in the southeast, Täby in south, Upplands Väsby in the southwest and Sigtuna in the northwest, all in Stockholm County.

Urban areas[edit]

Central town is Vallentuna which with its approximately 33,000 inhabitants is the largest urban area. It is a cross-border urban area mainly located in Vallentuna municipality in Stockholm County but also including Täby church village in Täby municipality.

Other urban areas in the municipality are Brottby, Ekskogen, Karby, Kårsta and Lindholmen.
