Round winners – July (Round #181)

Congratulations to the winners of round July 2025: aicar from Stockholm biked home his first Gold, AJHB from London focused so much on getting and holding turfs that he ended up with his fourth Silver, and GAIS71 from Västmanland took Bronze, his first podium medal in Turf. Well done mates!

Skåne Open – 23rd of August

Turf Skåne is hosting Skåne Open Saturday August 23 on Ribersborgs beach in Malmö. There will be three optional heats, foot, wheel and water. Foot and wheel are open events and will give you the (one) event medal for participation. Water is closed. There will be cups for the first three in each heat. Participation is free. We are hoping for many entries, and this year we would love to see some participants from neighboring Denmark! More info and registration HERE.

TURF08Bromma - 30th of August in Stockholm

TURF08, the Stockholm based Turf Association, will have their annual bike event in woods of Judarskogen's nature reserve. You can also walk if you want to, but no electric vehicles are allowed. It is a 2 hour Event. Some light refreshments will be available to buy.

The Ultimate Region Fight 2025 - September 2025

MaXi is again organising the ultimate region fight and this year's rules have been posted at Turfportalen HERE. Rules are both in Swedish and English. It will be fun, it will be exciting, it will be great Turf-TV for those of us not participating ;) So far, seven regions have registered to take part in this prestigious event.

Turf and Vacation

July is THE vacation month in Sweden and although I have had to work, there has been time for plenty of excursions outside of my home Turf. There have been day trips to Stockholm, over-night visits to Eskilstuna and Lindesberg and also just evening Turf biking here in Uppsala, helping out fellow turfers with gardens plots by watering in the warm July days.

SunYour from Västmanland want to share this lovely place, the zone Jägarudden, between Kungsör and Jägaråsen.

Another vacation photo came from HaileGåBraSel and ReadySteadyGå of the Gates to the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Now that's quite impressive!

I myself visited the World Heritage Drottningholm in Stockholm for the first time this summer, and walked around in the park surrounding this Royal Palace on a sunny Saturday. Some parts of the park is off limits for visitors, since Sweden's King and Queen call this place home. There are 10 Royal Palaces in Sweden and you can visit them all and take the zone close by.

For those turfers who like to optimize their turfing with the aim at ”painting zones purple” (when you take a zone at least 51 times, it will turn purple on your Unique zone map in Warded), PaintHelper is of great help. You have to import your data from Warded, and then you can go crazy!
