Lund is a municipality in the region of Skåne in Sweden. The municipality has approximately 127,100 inhabitants and is located in the province of Scania (in Swedish Skåne).

The municipality is part of Metropolitan Malmö and the Öresund Region, and is the seat of Lund University with associated departments such as Faculty of Engineering (LTH), Lund University.

Location[edit]

The municipality is located in the southwestern parts of the province of Scania (in Swedish Skåne) and adjacent municipalities are Sjöbo in the east, Skurup in the southeast, Svedala and Staffanstorp in the southwest, Lomma in the west, Kävlinge in the northwest and Eslöv in the northeast, all in the former Malmöhus county.

Urban areas[edit]

The urban area of Lund is the municipality's central town. Other urban areas in the municipality are Dalby, Genarp, Revingeby, Stångby, Södra Sandby, Torna Hällestad, Vallkärra och Veberöd.
