Asikkala is a municipality in the region of Etelä-Suomi (Southern Finland) in Finland. Asikkala has about 8 100 inhabitants and is located in the province of Päijät-Hämeen.

Location[edit]

Asikkala is located by Lake Päijänne. Bordering municipalities are Heinola to the east, Hollola and Lahti to the south, Hämeenlinna to the west, Padasjoki and Sysmä to the north.

The most taken zone is KanavaPuisto that is located by the river Vääksynjoki, in the adminstrative center of the municipality the village of Vääksy.
