Location[edit]

Edinburgh is located in the south east of Scotland, on the east coast of Scotland's 'Central Belt' (the densely populated lowlands of south central Scotland), on the south coast of Firth of Forth at North Sea and due to its hard location and with its huge collection of medieval and Georgian architecture with including several stone dwellings, it is one of the most dramatic cities in Europe.

The municipality borders West Lothian to the west, Midlothian to the south and East Lothian to the east.

Urban areas[edit]

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and is the second largest city, after Glasgow. Edinburgh is 72 kilometers from Glasgow, 24 kilometers from Livingston and 160 kilometers from Carlisle and Aberdeen. The population amounts to just under half a million inhabitants.

Other towns are Balerno, Dalmeny, Ingliston, Kirkliston, Leith, Portobello, Ratho, South Queensferry and Straiton.

Zones[edit]

There are 1105 turf zones in the municipality of City of Edinburgh, one of which is counted as a world heritage site, 36 winner zones, one water zone, twelve train station zones, 22 monument zones, 40 holy zones, 63 bridge zones, two castle zones and seven ruin zones.

The most taken zone is HaymarketRail which is located at Haymarket railway station Edinburgh.
