Kolari is a municipality in the region of Lappi (Lapland) in Finland. The municipality has about 4000 inhabitants.

Kolari is home to Finland's northernmost railway station and the Ylläs ski center.

Location[edit]

Kolari municipality is located in the northwestern part of Finland.

Bordering municipalities are Muonio in the north, Kittilä in the east, Rovaniemi in the southeast, Pello in the south, and Pajala in Sweden.

Urban Areas[edit]

The administrative centre is Kittilä church village with 1000 invånare, other urban areas are Äkäslompolo, and Sieppijärvi.
