Stockholm, Stockholm Municipality or the City of Stockholm (Swedish: Stockholms kommun or Stockholms stad) is a municipality in the region of Stockholm in Sweden. The municipality has about 973 000 inhabitants.

Central town is Stockholm, which is also Sweden's capital and largest urban area.

Placement

The municipality is located in the southern parts of the province Uppland and the northern parts of Södermanland. To the east is Baltic Sea with the Stockholm Archipelago and in the west Mälaren. In the southeast, the municipality borders Tyresö municipality, in the south on Huddinge municipality and Botkyrka municipality, in the west on Ekerö municipality, in the north to Järfälla municipality, Sollentuna municipality and Danderyd municipality, in the northeast and northwest to Sundbybergs municipality and Solna municipality, in the east to Lidingö municipality and Nacka municipality, all in Stockholm County.

Zones

There are 1413 turf zones in the municipality, one of which is counted as world heritage site, ten winner zones, six water zone, six train station zones, 22 monument zones, 28 holy zones, 73 bridge zones, five castle zones and one ruin zone.

The most taken zone are CentralZone which is located in front of the central station in the center of Stockholm.
