Utsjoki (Northern Sami Ohcejohka, Inari Sami Uccjuuhâ, Skolt Sami Uccjokk, Norwegian Utsjok) is a municipality in the region of Lappi (Lapland) in Finland. The municipality has about 1200 inhabitants and is located in its entirety in the historical landscape Lapland. It is Finland's northernmost municipality.

Location

Utsjoki municipality is located in the northernmost part of Finland and borders to Norway.

Bordering municipalities are Inari in the south and (in Norway) Karasjok in the west, Tana in the north, Nesseby in the northeast and Sør-Varanger in the east.

Urban areas

Utsjoki church village is the municipality's central town and only urban area. The town has about 300 inhabitants.

Zones

There are three turfzones in the Utsjoki municipality, where one is counted as a holy zone.

The most taken zone is Karasjohka which is located near the border crossing at Tana River in the Utsjoki church village.
