Västervik is a municipality in the region of Kalmar in Sweden. The municipality has approximately 36,800 inhabitants and is located in its entirety in the province of Småland.


Bonanza 2022 will be held in Västervik on May 21, 2022.


Location[edit]

The municipality is located in the northeastern parts of the province of Småland and has the Baltic Sea with Tjust's archipelago to the east. Adjacent municipalities are Oskarshamn in the south, Vimmerby in the southwest, both in Kalmar County, and Kinda in the northwest and Åtvidaberg and Valdemarsvik in the north, all in Östergötlands County.

Urban areas[edit]

The urban area Västervik is the largest with its approximately 21,400 inhabitants and constitutes the municipality's central town.

Other urban areas in the municipality are Ankarsrum, Edsbruk, Gamleby, Gunnebo, Hjorted, Loftahammar, Piperskärr, Totebo och Överum.

The most taken zone is Tjustbanan which is located on the pedestrian and bicycle path along Södra Järnvägsgatan at Willy's, in the western part of central Västervik.
