West Yorkshire is a metropolitan and ceremonial county that in turf is a municipality in the region of Yorkshire & The Humber in the United Kingdom. The municipality (metropolitan county) consists of five metropolitan boroughs (City of Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, City of Leeds and City of Wakefield) and has about 2.3 million inhabitants.

Location

West Yorkshire is bordered by the municipalities (counties) of Derbyshire in East Midlands to the south, Greater Manchester to the south-west and Lancashire to the west and north-west, both in North West England, North Yorkshire to the north and east, and South Yorkshire to the south and south-east, both in Yorkshire & The Humber.
