South East England is one of twelve regions in the United Kingdom. It consists of the counties of Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex and has about nine million inhabitants.

The largest city is Brighton & Hove, other of the region's most populous towns are Hove, Guildford, Portsmouth, Milton Keynes, Reading, Oxford, Slough and Southampton.

Adjacent regions are South West England in the west, West Midlands in the northwest, East Midlands in the north and East of England and Greater London in the northwest.
