West Midlands is one of twelve regions in the United Kingdom. The region consists of the counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire and has about six million inhabitants.

The largest city in the region is Birmingham. Other major cities are Coventry, Stoke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton.

Adjacent regions are North West England in the north, East Midlands in the east, South East England in the southeast, South West England in the south and Wales in the west.
