FarEast is a turfzone in the municipality of Norrtälje in the region of Stockholm in Sweden. The zone is located in the county of Uppland.

Placement

This zone is placed on a small skerry belonging to a group of skerrys called "Svenska Björn" at the very far end of the nature reserve of Svenska Björn in the outskirts of the Stockholm Archipelago in the Baltic Sea.

Svenska Björn

Svenska Björn is a nature reserve in Stockholm's northern archipelago in the Norrtälje municipality.

The reserve is 39.8 km² large and includes the skerrys Ytter-Tridingen, Tomasesberget, Norrgrund, Norrkobbarna, Humlorna, Ytterberget and Svenska Björn. Geographically, the area is the northern end of Svenska Vallen.

The area became a nature reserve in 1983, mainly to protect the gray seal's reproduction, but also hatching Common eider and wintering Long-tailed duck enjoy protection in the area. Access bans apply February 1 - August 15.

Turf Award

Florence and Entertainern were nominatad for the "Most Spectacular Zone Takeover of the Year" 2018 for having paddled along the far end of the Stockholm archipelago with a definite goal to take the FarEast zone, which is a big achievement and shows turf-related devotion. They also took the FarWest zone during the same round.
