Frederikshavn is a municipality in the region of Nordjylland (North Jutland) in Denmark. The municipality has about 59,000 inhabitants.

Location[edit]

The municipality is located in the northeastern part of the region Nordjylland (North Jutland) and has the Skagerrak in the north and the Kattegat in the east. Adjacent municipalities are Hjørring in the west and Brønderslev in the south.

Urban areas[edit]

Frederikshavn is the largest urban area and is the capital. Some other urban areas in the municipality are: Elling, Dybvad, Gærum, Halbjerg, Hørby, Jerup, Kilden, Kvissel, Ravnshøj, Skagen, Strandby, Syvsten, Sæby, Thorshøj, Voerså, Ålbæk and Østervrå.
