Næstved is a municipality in the region of Sjælland (Zealand) in Denmark. The municipality has about 83,000 inhabitants and is located on the island Zealand.

Location[edit]

Næstved is located in the southern part of Zealand. Adjacent municipalities are, Sorø in the north, Ringsted and Faxe in the northeast, Vordingborg in the south and Slagelse in the west, all in the region of Sjælland (Zealand).

Urban areas[edit]

Næstved is the largest with approximately 43,200 inhabitants and constitutes the municipality's capital. Other major towns in the municipality are: Fensmark, Fuglebjerg, Gelsted, Glumsø, Herlufmagle, Holme-Olstrup, Karrebæksminde, Mogenstrup and Tappernøje.
