Odense is a municipality in the region of Syddanmark (Southern Denmark) in Denmark. The municipality has about 204,800 inhabitants and is located on the island of Funen (Danish: Fyn).

Location[edit]

The municipality is located on the island of Funen (Danish: Fyn) and adjacent municipalities are, Kerteminde in the East, Faaborg-Midtfyn in the south, Assens in West and Nordfyn in the north, all in the region of Syddanmark (Southern Denmark).

Urban areas[edit]

The city Odense is the municipality's capital and largest urban area with approximately 180,800 inhabitants. It is Denmark's third largest city and the largest on the island of Funen.
