Sollefteå is a municipality in the region of Västernorrland in Sweden. The municipality has about 18,800 inhabitants and is located in its entirety in the province Ångermanland.

Location[edit]
The municipality is located in the northwestern part of Västernorrland County and borders the municipalities Sundsvall, Timrå, Härnösand and Kramfors in the south and Örnsköldsvik in the east, in Västerbotten County the municipalities Dorotea and Åsele in the north and in Jämtland County in the northwest Strömsund and in the west Ragunda.
Urban areas[edit]
The urban area Sollefteå is the largest with approximately 8,500 inhabitants and constitutes the municipality's central town.
Other urban areas in the municipality are Junsele, Långsele, Näsåker and Ramsele.
