Tårnby is a municipality in the region of Hovedstaden (Capital of Denmark) in Denmark. The municipality has about 43,000 inhabitants.

Copenhagen Airport is located in the municipality, and Øresund Crossing has an end point in it, both in Kastrup. The municipality has large areas without buildings, partly the airport, partly a large grass area in Vestamager and partly the islands Saltholm and Peberholm.

Location[edit]

The municipality is mainly located on the island Amager and has Öresund in the east and Køge Bay in the west. Adjacent municipalities are Copenhagen (København) in the north and Dragør in the south.
