Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is a region in northeastern Germany. The region encompasses the bundesland with the same name and has two million inhabitants.

Bordering regions are Brandenburg in the south, Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) in the southwest, Schleswig-Holstein in the west and Poland in the east.

In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern there are five municipalities with at least one turfzone. Each of these corresponds to a district (Kreis) within the bundesland:

The most taken zone is AlterSchwede that is located outside the restaurant Alter Schwede by the old market square in the town Wismar in the municipality of Nordwestmecklenburg.
