Norrbotten is one of the 21 regions in Sweden. The region corresponding to Norrbotten County has about 251,000 inhabitants and includes the province Norrbotten and the northern part of the province Lapland.
Adjacent regions are Västerbotten in the south, Nordnorge (Northern Norway) in Norway in the west and Lappi (Lapland) in Finland in the east.
