Björkåsparken is a turf zone in the municipality of Vänersborg in the region of Västra Götaland in Sweden and is counted as a bridge zone.
An oasis a little bit outside the center of Vänersborg.

Location[edit]
This bridge zone is located between the ponds south of Villa Björkås and west of Vargön church in Björkåsparken, northeast of central Vargön, about 5 kilometers southeast of Vänersborg.
Björkåsparken[edit]
Björkåsparken is located in Vargön, an urban area in the municipality of Vänersborg. The park is located quite centrally, but is still a bit hidden from those who do not know it. Björkåsparken has a unique environment and very old origins that stretch all the way to the 15th century. With three ponds and greenery, Björkåsparken can look fabulous. There are, among other things, salamanders in the ponds.
The couple Curt and Elsa d´Orchimont[edit]
The couple were childless and in the will they donated their property to the municipality of Vänersborg. Villa Björkås and the park passed to the municipality when Elsa passed away in 1996. Their wish was that the park should be maintained and be for the public. The house, Villa Björkås, was to be rented out or demolished. Today the house is in need of maintenance. What will happen to Villa Björkås is uncertain, but many are fighting for it to remain. The house is special, a carpenter's joy house, which is said to be haunted.
