CarolusCrib is a turfzone in the municipality of Ekerö in the region of Stockholm in Sweden. The zone is located in the province of Uppland and is counted as a World Heritage zone

Placement[edit]

In the park by the Drottningholm Palace on the Lovön island, about 20 km southeast of the Ekerö town center and about 12 km west of central Stockholm.

Drottningholm Palace[edit]

The Royal Domain of Drottningholm stands on an island in Lake Mälaren in a suburb of Stockholm. With its castle, perfectly preserved theatre (built in 1766), Chinese pavilion and gardens, it is the finest example of an 18th-century north European royal residence inspired by the Palace of Versailles.

Since 1981 King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden have resided in the southern wing of the palace. The other parts of the palace are open to the public. Also during this time there has been, just like at Stockholm Palace, a unit of royal guards stationed at the palace. During the covid-19 pandemic the King and Queen carried out some of their work from their home in the palace. Otherwise their official workplace has remained at Stockholm Palace
