The Maiden's Dance[edit]

"This stone maze is called the maiden's dance. Does it not sound romantic? No one really knows by whom or why they were built. One story tells about fishermen and sailors who built these formations to kill time in the evenings after a day of fishing. I want to believe the other version. It tells that the sailor's fiancés climbed up on high places to see if their man was on his way home. While waiting they would build these stone mazes to run and dance in. I wish I could still wait for my Gunnar. Sometimes I dream about him being out on the seven seas, rounding Cape Horn, while I'm waiting for him at the maiden's dance."
