Placement[edit]
This zone is located at a vantage point overlooking the Limestone Mine in Parainen, near the road "Skolgatan".
Kalkbrottet[edit]
The mine is a 75-hectare open pit. The total refraction is about 2.4 million tons per year, the mine is about 1250 m deep with the primary crusher situated 220 m below sea level. The mine is operated by the Nordkalk company, with operations in several countries. The company began in 1898 as "Pargas Kalkbergs Aktiebolag". In summertime there are guided tours that go down to the mine that can be recommended.
