Sagalund[edit]

Sagalund is a local history museum in the municipality of Kimito.

Sagalund's Museum was founded in 1900 by primary school teacher Nils Oskar Jansson with Skansen in Stockholm as a model. The museum's most famous building is the "Tjuda pedagogi", which was founded in 1649 by Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna. The building dates from the late 18th century and was moved to Sagalund in 1914. In 1933, the building was renovated and regained the interior it had in the 1850s. The oldest building is Brink Ball cottage, which was built in 1753. Other buildings include the museum's main building Villa Sagalund, Vreta school, Linnarnäs farm, Falla farm, Engelsby old courthouse and a number of smaller buildings such as a barn, smithy, distillery and windmill.

At Sagalund, there is also the Kimito youth association's premises Wrethalla, which is Finland's oldest youth association premises. The association was founded in 1888 as Kimito Swedish Youth Association on the initiative of Nils Oskar Jansson and Adèle Weman.
