The "mountain of rubble" in Lichterfelde[edit]
The "mountain of rubble" in Lichterfelde is a relic of the 2nd World War. Berlin has a few of these mountains of rubble, because there was plenty of construction debris to dispose of. Over 62 metres of rubble was piled up here. The mountain was built within three years - from 1953 to 1956.
