East Midlands is one of twelve regions in the United Kingdom. It includes the ceremonial counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk and has about six million inhabitants.

The largest city is Norwich, other of the region's most populous towns are Bedford, Luton, Basildon, Peterborough, Southend-on-Sea, Ipswich, Colchester, Chelmsford and Cambridge. The southern part of the region lies in the London commuter belt.

Adjacent regions are East of England in the southeast, South East England in the south, West Midlands in the west, North West England in the northwest and Yorkshire & The Humber in the north.
