Congratulations to the winners of round [[Round 152|February 2023]]: [[User:Kygni|Kygni]] from [[Region:Norrbotten|Norrbotten]] (formerly of [[Region:Uppsala|Uppsala]]) took his third [[Gold medal|Gold]] in lovely winter conditions, [[User:Király|Király]] from [[Region:Skåne|Skåne]] added another [[Silver medal|Silver]] to his medal row and [[User:Marcus_P|Marcus_P]] from [[Region:Hamburg|Hamburg]] turfed home his second [[Bronze medal|Bronze]]. Well done mates!

===Foot Event in Stockholm on April 29th===
[[Turf08]] invites everyone to a Foot Event on April 29th "somewhere in the southern part of [[Region:Stockholm|Stockholm]]". It will start at 1 pm and last for 2 hours. There will be "fika" and prizes. More information closer to the date can be found [https://nyheter.turf08.se/ HERE], including where the event will take place!

The [[Bonanza]], the main event of the [[Turf]] World is organized this year by [[Turf Västerbotten]] on the 20th of May with events in two classes, a [[Bonanza]] banquet and lots of other fun activities. Sign up for the [[Bonanza:Umeå 2023|Bonanza 2023]] can be found [https://www.turfvasterbotten.se/category/bonanza/ HERE]. So far just over 160 turfers are registred. [[Turf Award]]s is awarded to [[Turfer|turfers]] who have made significant or particularly attentive achievements during the previous year or have been involved in an especially noted or spectacular [[Zone|zone]] takeover.
Nominations for [[Turf Award]]s [[2022]] closed on February 28th. Voting will open up in April, stay tuned!

[[Turf Göteborg]] would like to invite new and old [[Turfer|turfers]], local and tourist turfers to their monthly “fika”. Come and join other turfers in [[Municipality:Gothenburg|Gothenburg]] at café Evas Paley (close to the zone [[Zone:NonViolence|NonViolence]]) 6 pm on the first Wednesday in the new round. For the March round the meet-up is on the 8th of March.

During the last round, many turfers have enjoyed the vivid Northern Lights playing in the skies during evenings. From [[User:Kygni|Kygni]] in [[Municipality:Luleå|Luleå]] biking along one evening going for [[Gold medal|Gold]] to [[User:canon|canon]] in [[Municipality:Nyköping|Nyköping]] just going for a few zones after dinner, February was a good month to see Northern Lights in large parts of [[Country:Sweden|Sweden]]. ==Introduction to [[PaintHelper]] by [[User:praktikus|praktikus]]==
[[PaintHelper]] is a third party page where you can get help with ”painting the zones”, something very many [[Turfer|turfers]] are addicted to. The turfer behind this page, [[User:praktikus|praktikus]], has been a turfer since [[2014]] and here is the story behind [[PaintHelper]] in his own words. ”In recent years, I have become obsessed with what many turfers call ”painting”. That is, based on the colors that appear on the page "Map of my unique zones" on [HTTP://warded.se warded.se]. I then experienced that after a while it became difficult to get an overview of how I best optimize my turfing in order to, for example, increase the amount of red zones. Just over a year ago, I was on sick leave due to burnout syndrome and during my recovery it was a fitting therapy to put this page together. Also very educational and fun :)
What can it be used for?
As the name reveals, it is meant to help with painting the [[Zone|zones]] in [[Turf]]. Firstly, it is easy to filter the zones both by the number of takes and by Area/[[Municipality]]. Then you can, for example, search for all zones in your municipality that have between 7 and 10 takes to see which ones are closest to turning orange (a minimum of 11 takes). Another nice feature is that it shows untaken zones in the same map as taken zones. On warded you have to look at two different maps to see both taken and untaken.”
I have yet to try out [[PaintHelper]], but if ”painting” zones fast and in the most optimal order is your goal, then this is the page for you!
