Near the beach there are a few holiday homes and a kilometer inland a former Sami residence, which belonged to the Könkämä Sami village. Immediately east of the border with Finland is the nature reserve Malla. A hiking trail and a snowmobile trail north to the [[Three-Country Cairn]].
