The old church of Västanfjärd, or St. Jacobs church after the priest who consecrated the church, is located in the former [[municipality]] of [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%A4stanfj%C3%A4rd Västanfjärd] in the [[municipality]] of [[Municipality:Kimitoön|Kimitoön]].
The church was built in 1759 by the church builder Isak Olin from [[Municipality:Turku, Lounais-Suomi|Turku]]. The shape of the church is octagonal and is sparsely decorated. The nave and sacristy were built later. The outer walls were lined with boards. It was not until 1847 that the inner walls were clad. There is no electric lighting or electric heating in the church.
The belfry next to the church was built in 1763.
