Posio is a municipality in the region of Lappi (Lapland) in Finland. The municipality has about 3 200 inhabitants.

Posio is located in the northeastern part of Finland
Bordering municipalities are Rovaniemi to the northwest, Kemijärvi to the north, Salla to the northeast, Kuusamo to the east, Taivalkoski to the south, Pudasjärvi to the southwest and Ranua to the west.
