Meurman is a turfzone in the municipality of Turku in the region of Lounais-Suomi (Southwestern Finland) in Finland. This zone is located in the province of Varsinais-Suomi and is counted as a monument zone.
PlacementEdit
This zone is placed in the Matilda Meurman park, in the Puistomäki district southwest of the Turku city center.
Mathilda MeurmanEdit
The park is named after Mrs. Mathilda Meurman (née Von Troil), who died in the Vähä-Heikkilä mansion fire. Daughter Bertha Meurman also died in the fire on March 3-4, 1853. Roads in the area are also named after the family. The park is unkempt and in the middle there is a memorial stone for those who died.
