An '''event''' is a form of competition in ''[[Turf]]'' that is played on a special event area under a limited time. All events have their own [[toplist]] and own [[zone]]s that replaces the normal zones within the event area. A [[Bonanza]] is an official event that takes place once a year and can be compared to the world championship of ''Turf''.
An event that is not a [[Bonanza]] is less prestigious and can be organized by regular players if approved by [[Turf Crew]]. In an event, no medals are awarded in different denominations and the [[Eventor|participant medal]] is instead marked "EVENT". An event can be [[Open event|open]] or [[Closed event|closed]]. In a closed event, you need to register in advance to participate, otherwise you just have to come, even if interest is shown in advance through [http://forum.turfgame.com Turfforum]. Another difference that exists between a Bonanza and an open event is that in an open event, [[turfer]]s who are not at the event can still take over any [[zone]]s that are normally located on the venue. It does not work in a closed event or in a Bonanza.
