Saarland is a region in southwestern Germany. The region encompasses the bundesland with the same name and has about one million inhabitants.
Bordering regions are Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate) in the north and France in the south and Luxembourg in the west.

In Saarland there are four municipalities with at least one turfzone. Each of these corresponds to a district (Kreis) within the bundesland:

There are 66 turfzones in the region, where one is counted as a world heritage site, two train station zones, two monument zones, five holy zones, one summit zone, six bridge zones and two castle zones.
