Cyprus (officially called the Republic of Cyprus), is an island country in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is the third largest and third most populous island in the Mediterranean, and is located north of Egypt; northwest of Lebanon, Palestine, and Israel; west of Syria; southeast of Greece; and south of Turkey. Cyprus has about 1,1 million inhabitants and the capital is Nicosia.

There are 30 turfzones in the country all belonging to the same and only region, Cyprus. Three of these are counted as world heritage sites, one as a water zone, four as holy zones and one as a bridge zone.
