Schleswig-Holstein is a region in northern Germany. The region encompasses the bundesland with the same name and has about three million inhabitants. Bordering regions are Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the east, Niedersachsen and Hamburg in the south and Syddanmark in Denmark in the north.
