Noord-Holland (North Holland) is one of twelve regions in the Netherlands. The region includes the province of the same name and has about three million inhabitants.
The province's capital is Haarlem while the largest city is the country's capital Amsterdam.
Adjacent regions are Utrecht and Zuid-Holland (South Holland) in the south while the region has a permanent connection with Friesland and Flevoland in the east.
