Sachsen is a region in eastern Germany. The region encompasses the bundesland with same name and has about four million inhabitants. Bordering regions are Bayern in the southwest, Thüringen in the west, Sachsen-Anhalt in the northwest, Brandenburg in the north, Poland in the east and Czech Republic in the south.
