North West England is one of twelve regions in the United Kingdom. It includes the counties of Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside and has about seven million inhabitants.

The largest city is Manchester, other of the region's most populous towns are Liverpool, Warrington, Blackpool, Chester, Stockport, Sale and Bolton.

Adjacent regions are Scotland in the north, North East England and Yorkshire & The Humber in the east, East Midlands in the southeast, West Midlands in the south and Wales in the southwest.
