Skåne is one of 21 regions in Sweden. The region corresponds to the historical province of Scania (in Swedish Skåne), which is the southernmost province of Sweden. The largest city is Malmö, which is also the third largest city in Sweden and the administrative centre of Skåne County.
To the north, Skåne borders the regions of Halland and Kronoberg, to the northeast Blekinge, to the east and south the Baltic Sea, and to the west the Øresund.
