Copenhagen (in Danish København) is a municipality in the region of Hovedstaden (Capital of Denmark) in Denmark. The municipality has about 633,000 inhabitants.

Location

The municipality of Copenhagen has Öresund in the east and borders Tårnby municipality in the south, Hvidovre municipality in the southeast, Rødovre municipality in the west, Herlev municipality in the northwest and Gladsaxe municipality and Gentofte municipality in the north. The municipality encircles Frederiksberg municipality.
